The Power of a Sustainable Future, Hidden in the Depths of the Earth

About us

The GeoTec Energy team are graduates of the Geoengineering and Geothermal specialisation at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas at the AGH University of Krakow. Our company focuses on geoenergetics in the broadest sense, covering areas from borehole heat exchangers to deep geothermal issues. With the knowledge and experience we have gained, we are able to provide innovative solutions in the field of geothermal energy utilization, supporting green practices and the development of efficient geoenergy technologies.

Offer

  • Thermal Response Test (TRT)

Testing the effective thermal conductivity in borehole heat exchangers and their thermal resistivity for the design of a so-called lower heat source for a geothermal/ground source heat pump. The offer includes TRT design, execution and interpretation of results.

  • Distributed Thermal Response Test (DTRT)

TRT test with measurement and recording of borehole temperatures at different depths of a borehole heat exchanger with an assumed symmetrical interval. The offer includes the design of the DTRT, execution and interpretation of the results.

  • Conductivity and resistance tests

Tests of borehole heat exchangers, for very large borehole heat exchanger fields - the tests enable optimisation of the operation of borehole heat exchangers with a very large number of exchangers, defining the variability of borehole heat exchanger parameters from their operation technology. This makes it possible to reduce operating costs. Both tests are based on several thermal response tests. The offer includes the design of the , execution and interpretation of the results.

  • Borehole temperature profiling

Borehole temperature profiling to determine the average temperature in the borehole and the temperature distribution along the length/depth.

  • Hydraulic tests

Determination of theoretical and actual hydraulic characteristics of borehole heat exchangers of different designs.

  • Geo-energetic analysis A

Determination of the lower heat source concept with borehole heat exchangers (design) on the basis of the thermal properties of the rock or by means of a test borehole, design of the number of borehole heat exchangers needed, their depth, distance between them, design, trajectory of the borehole axes and their arrangement. The parameters depend on the size of the heat/cooling demand and the specific load.

  • Geo-energetic analysis B

Determination of the potential energy performance of a lower heat source with borehole exchangers based on the design. The design determines the thermal properties of the rock or parameters of the test hole, determines the number of borehole heat exchangers, their depths, distances between them, structures, trajectories of the borehole axes and their placement. The analysis indicates possible heating/cooling loads and the possibilities of their seasonal distribution.

  • Geo-energetic analysis C

    Determination of:

    • potential energy performance of the lower heat source with borehole heat exchangers (i.e. heating/cooling capacities and amounts of exchanged heat),
    • possible variants for seasonal loading of borehole heat exchangers,
    • selection of additional sources in case of heat/cooling shortages for momentary loads or for storing energy in the rock mass (heat/cooling),
    • thermal properties of the rock or parameters of the test hole (effective thermal conductivity in the hole and thermal resistance of the hole exchanger on the basis of tests performed or test results provided),
    • number of holes, required depth, distance between them, construction, trajectory of hole axes and their arrangement,
    • operational parameters of a single hole heat exchanger or of a whole field of holes.
  • Support for investors

Support for investors (local authorities) in the following areas: design, drilling, selection of contractors, consultancy, development of an EWS.

  • Inspection work

Execution of control works covering the correctness of execution of projects and drilling works involving geothermal and underground energy (heat/cooling) storage.

  • Expert opinions

Drawing up expert reports on geothermal and underground energy storage (heat/cooling).

  • Development of concepts/projects

Development of concepts/projects for the assessment, provision and use of low-temperature heat in the form of groundwater, borehole heat exchangers, waste heat and anthropogenic heat, as well as the storage of such heat.
